The laboratory has an accreditation agreement with Accredia, which is renewed every four years. Under this agreement, the laboratory can indicate specific tests as ‘accredited’, listed in the official updated list available on the website www.accredia.it.
The accreditation of a test method by Accredia certifies that an independent third party has verified the full compliance of the method with the requirements of the
UNI CEI EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard and other Accredia prescriptive documents.
This recognition
guarantees, among other things:
- the use of qualified and competent personnel;
- the use of efficient and calibrated equipment;
- the use of suitable reagents and materials;
- the maintenance of controlled environmental conditions that do not compromise the validity of the tests;
- the completion of a preliminary study of the method's performance, through internal verification or validation activities and the estimation of the uncertainty of the result, where applicable;
- participation in external assessment tests and periodic internal quality controls, aimed at ensuring the competence and reliability of the laboratory in the execution of accredited methods over time.
The Laboratory is also authorised to use the Accredia mark in the cases and in the manner established by the Body itself. Consequently, the Accredia mark appears on Test Reports only when they include at least one accredited test; any non-accredited tests are marked with an asterisk (*) with the wording: "Test not accredited by Accredia".
